Enter the Elephant

Now for the big one. I have been eyeing the three large canvases I have leaning up against the wall in my studio for a long time, knowing that as much as I ache to begin a painting on a larger scale it needs a very different mindset, even a different body set— all action and big gestures. So, last weekend I threw myself into the process. It isn’t by any means finished yet, but I am learning what marks feel right and what proportions work. It has a way to go yet, but I’m posting as a celebration at taking this big one out and exploring the space!
